Ingredients

  • cup Panko bread crumbs, see shopping tips
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoonground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 2 pieces tilapia (5 oz each)
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • In a shallow dish, combine the Panko bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, honey, and Tabasco sauce to make the glaze.
  • Pat the tilapia dry and place on a plate. Lightly dust each side with flour, then dredge both sides in the bread crumb mixture so they are evenly coated.
  • Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and add the olive oil. Heat over medium. Add the breaded fillets, cover, and sauté until golden and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer the fish to a plate.
  • Pour the lemon-honey glaze into the hot pan and cook briefly, about 5–10 seconds, until it thickens slightly and becomes syrupy. Spoon the glaze over the tilapia and serve immediately.
