The café inside the Louis Vuitton flagship on 57th Street in New York City serves an elegant afternoon tea featuring tea sandwiches and branded sweets. Below is a clear, polished review of the tea service based on my visit.

Le Café Louis Vuitton
Le Café Louis Vuitton is located on the fourth floor of the Louis Vuitton flagship at 57th Street. The café follows the store’s opening hours and is suitable for lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner. To access it you walk through the store and enter a roped-off area behind a closed door; an attendant greets guests and leads them to their table.
Note from Jee

Reservations are in high demand. I secured a table only after monitoring Resy for several months, so persistence helps. The confirmation text includes a dress code reminder requesting elegant attire for a day or night out in NYC, noting that athletic wear is prohibited and jackets are not required. It also prohibits professional camera equipment and laptop use—policies I found strict but understandable for the setting.
Reservations
Advance reservations are strongly recommended and often necessary. All bookings are through Resy.com and the café releases tables roughly one month in advance, so frequent checking can reveal openings.
Dress Code
The confirmation message states: “We politely request that you dress your best for your dining experience with us: elegant for a NYC day or night out. Jackets are not required. Athletic wear is kindly prohibited. Any guest who does not appear sufficiently well-presented may be refused entry.”
Afternoon Tea Hours
Afternoon tea is served daily from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
How Afternoon Tea Works at Louis Vuitton
The tea offering is a set menu listed on the last page of the menu. It includes a choice of tea or coffee and the full selection of tea sandwiches and sweets; you simply select your beverage. The tea pot arrives first, followed by a three-tiered tray with sweets and sandwiches and a separate plate of tea sandwiches. Begin with the tea sandwiches (from the plate and the middle tier), then enjoy the sweets. There is no separate scones course, which differs from traditional afternoon tea formats.
Afternoon Tea Menu
Afternoon Tea
$110 per person
Includes a pot of tea or a cup of coffee, five tea sandwiches, a marble cake with vanilla custard sauce, and an assortment of six mini sweets. There are no scones. Menu items and prices are subject to change.
Setting: ★★★★☆

The café feels like a restaurant with typical bustle and noise, so it is not a quiet, languid tea room. Many diners choose heartier fare such as burgers, which matches the atmosphere. The interior leans toward a darker palette, creating a moody ambiance. Note that restrooms are located a distance down the hall, which requires a short walk.
Service: ★★★★★
Service was attentive and friendly. Staff responded quickly to requests such as extra plates or more hot water, and they adjusted the placement of the tiered tray when it impeded conversation—small attentions that improved the experience.
Tea & Selection: ★★★★☆

The teas are supplied by Song Tea & Ceramics from San Francisco, a high-end tea house, so quality is reliable. The menu, however, lists only about eight tea options. I ordered the Amber 30 Gold “Louis Vuitton Blend.” Staff described it as a customized blend and their response about its specific composition was vague; they indicated it cannot be categorized as one specific type and characterized it as non-caffeinated, which I found uncertain. In addition to teas, the café offers three coffee options and a vanilla matcha latte; several beverages are decorated with the Louis Vuitton logo.
Savories: ★★★★☆

Savories are presented on the middle tier and on a separate rectangular plate. The Louis Vuitton motif appears on many elements—the sandwich bread, plates, teapot, and garnishes—showing meticulous attention to branding. The savories were enjoyable but not outstanding; none of the sandwiches left a lasting impression compared with other memorable tea sandwiches I’ve experienced elsewhere.

Scones: N/A
There is no scone course, which means the service departs from a classic afternoon tea structure. The lack of scones creates an imbalance between savories and sweets, with the sweets overpowering the menu.
Sweets: ★★★☆☆

A marble cake in the shape of an LV flower is served with vanilla anglaise and is substantial enough for two people as a dessert. The cake was well made and sweet, particularly when paired with the custard sauce. The top tier features six mini sweets—each decorated with the LV logo and floral motifs. I enjoyed the pistachio chouquette, but the overall quantity of sweets led to a sugar-heavy finish.

Overall: ★★★★☆
The presentation and craftsmanship justify much of the $110 price point: everything is polished, distinctive, and clearly branded. However, the menu’s lack of scones and the excess of sweets throw the balance off from a traditional afternoon tea. While each component is generally good, the overall progression felt uneven for my taste.
