What’s included
The kit ships complete with one HID ballast (headlight control unit), one external igniter and one D2S xenon bulb. The ballast provides the high-voltage pulse required to ignite the lamp and then regulates current while the lamp is running. The igniter connects between the ballast and the D2S bulb; the bulb supplied is the D2S type used in many OEM xenon systems.

Fits my Acura — works flawlessly
I was hesitant at first since there are costlier options, but this ballast surprised me. It brought my Acura’s headlight back to life with steady output and no flicker. After several days it’s still running perfectly. A solid choice if you want to replace the original without overspending; I’m pleased so far.

Good fit for 2009 CX-9
Worked well on my 2009 Mazda CX-9. The new bulb/igniter that came with the kit was a bit short, so I used my original igniter. No flicker and light output is comparable to OEM. Installation was straightforward after removing the headlight and securing three screws for the ballast.

Mixed quality — one unit failed
I bought kits for both sides; one worked but the other’s ballast and igniter were defective. It took a lot of time to remove and test everything to find the bad parts. With a 50% success rate I won’t order these kits again—too much hassle for inconsistent results.

Complete kit saved me time
This was a lifesaver for my 2014 RDX. It includes everything you need. I removed the headlight to install it — don’t bother going to the dealer; bring the kit to a local mechanic instead. If your headlight has no power you need the ballast. Conversion to a halogen would’ve cost more than this route. Very satisfied.

Mechanic-approved alternative
As a 42-year master technician I was wary of aftermarket parts for a client. The OEM ballast was over $400, so we tried this kit. It was nice that all three components were included and it worked well once installed. Wiring inside the headlight is fiddly, but function was flawless. I’ll offer this option to future customers.

Affordable replacement so far
Installed this HID kit on my 2012 Acura TL a few months ago and it has worked well. I’d say it’s inexpensive rather than cheap — so far it’s held up. The bulbs lean a little toward a bluish tint, but overall initial impressions are positive. Will update if long-term issues appear.
