WRITECH Arts Sign Brush Pen Set — 12 Water-Based Vintage Shades
Product description
This set contains 12 sign brush pens filled with water-based ink in a curated range of vintage hues. Each pen has a soft, flexible brush tip engineered to be pressure sensitive and wear-resistant so you can produce fine hairlines and broad strokes from the same nib.
The pigments are formulated for easy blending — the tips can be diluted with water to produce washes and gradients, and colors mix well with other brush-style sign pens. The caps are color-matched to the ink and fit securely; the barrels are lightweight and comfortable to hold for extended lettering or journaling sessions.
Use these for hand-lettering, calligraphy, journaling, doodling, feathering, cross-hatching, outlining and other detailed line work. They’re useful for beginners who are learning pressure control as well as for experienced artists who want quick color layers and subtle shading effects.
Note that barrels do not display individual color names, and some shades may deliver slightly wetter ink flow than others. Overall, the set is built to be approachable, blendable and versatile across a variety of paper types and creative techniques.
Pros
- Flexible, resilient soft brush tip
- Water-based, blendable inks for gradients and washes
- Good line variation for lettering and detailed work

VerdictThese WRITECH Arts sign brush pens deliver flexible, pressure-sensitive tips and fully blendable water-based inks in a compact 12-color assortment. They offer wide line variation, smooth ink flow with minimal skip, and are forgiving for beginners while still useful for experienced letterers. A few shades run wetter than others and the barrels lack printed color names, but overall they’re versatile

Flexible tips give great control
I really enjoy these pens. The brush tips bend and rebound smoothly, allowing reliable thick-to-thin transitions. Ink flow is consistent and the shades are attractive — perfect for lettering practice. I’d purchase them again.

Perfect for planners and journaling
These remind me of fudenosuke-style pens: nice line width control and zero bleed on Tomoe River pages and planner paper. After trying one pack I bought more — ideal for journaling.

Vibrant colors and no bleed for me
Colors are lively and I’ve had no bleed-through or smudging, even as a left-handed writer. It took a short practice to get consistent pressure and color laydown, but that was my technique more than the pens themselves.

Highly recommend—great flow and flexibility
Fantastic pens that outperform highlighters and some fountain options for script. They hold up to pressure, are juicy without excessive bleed, and dry reasonably quickly. The set is smaller than some alternatives, and one green felt wetter than the others, but overall I’m in love with how they write.

Very smooth and dependable tip
These exceeded what I expected from a novelty set. The nibs keep their shape, produce even lines and the tones are vivid without being garish. I had no trouble with smearing and the pens feel sturdy — a solid purchase for lettering and notes.

Makes calligraphy easier and more enjoyable
These pens transformed my practice — very smooth with no skipping and a wide range from thin to thick strokes. I tested the vintage set and loved the color harmony; lids matched the inks well though the barrels don’t list names. They layer nicely for depth, have little odor, and feel balanced in the hand. I experimented on cheap paper and still achieved clean results. You can blend colors together by touching or using water for gradients.

Works well for brush-lettering practice
I was looking for pens that handle both soft and hard strokes and these fit the bill. They performed smoothly on cold-press watercolor sheets so far; prolonged use on textured paper might eventually show wear, but initial performance was clean. The vintage tones are more muted — I’ll get a brighter set for variety.
