10-Frame Medium Langstroth Honey Super — Wax-Dipped Cedar Box (Unassembled)
Product description
Standard Langstroth dimensions: this medium honey super measures 16-1/4" x 19-7/8" x 6-5/8" and is sized for ten standard Langstroth frames.
Included items: the package contains one unassembled 10-frame medium super box plus ten medium frames and waxed foundation sheets sized 6-5/8" x 19" (starter plastic/wax-coated foundations included).
Beeswax finish: each exterior and interior surface is dipped in 100% beeswax to add water resistance and protection, eliminating the immediate need to paint and giving a familiar beeswax aroma that appeals to colonies.
Material and stability: the box is milled from cedarwood chosen for dimensional stability; cedar resists shrinking, swelling, cracking and warping better than many other hive woods.
Assembly and design: components use pre-cut dovetail joints and pre-drilled countersunk holes to accept the supplied screws, providing a tight, square fit and simpler home assembly. The dovetail joinery gives durable long-term structural support.
Pros
- Thick 100% beeswax coating for durability and water resistance
- Stable cedar construction reduces warping and cracking
- Pre-cut dovetails and pre-drilled holes speed assembly
Cons
- Ships unassembled — tools and time required
- Natural wood knots may need extra care during assembly
- Some beekeepers prefer to add extra wax to foundations
VerdictA robust, ready-waxed 10-frame medium super that saves paint time and offers solid woodworking: cedar construction, tight dovetails, pre-drilled holes, and included waxed foundations make it a dependable choice for expanding a Langstroth setup.

Works well for my bees
Well crafted product. I broke a tiny piece during my build, user error. Exterior wax is a new touch for me but it works and the bees accepted it. I still added a bit more wax to the frames as I do with new foundations.

Quality super and deep cell foundation
Impressed with craftsmanship and the heavy wax on the foundation—nice deep cell pattern and a pleasant beeswax scent. Dovetails are real and fit square when assembled with the supplied screws. Lumber shows natural grain and knots; boards seem hot-soaked rather than just sprayed.

Well made and responsive seller
Very solid construction and fair value. I like the wax finish and the color contrast with my brood boxes. Dovetail corners fit tightly and assembly was straightforward with the provided screws. Foundations are the right size and wax-coated. One box had a knot at a finger joint that I enlarged slightly for the screw.
