Bee Entrance Feeders (4-Pack) — Jar Syrup & Water Dispensers
Product description
Constructed for durability, these entrance feeders combine a high-impact plastic base with a 304 stainless steel lid. The set contains four feeders so you can supply multiple hives or have spares on hand.
Dimensions are 5.5 x 3.14 x 1.18 inches (L x W x H). The metal screw-on lid accepts jars with a mouth diameter of 2 ¾ inches, making them compatible with many standard glass and plastic jars. Each feeder features a small-hole dispensing pattern and an extended tray that directs drops into the hive and gives workers an easy landing area.
The plastic base is rugged, simple to rinse and sanitize, and translucent enough to let you check syrup levels without opening the colony. The extended tray and entrance-mount design mean the unit can be partially inserted into the entrance for straightforward installation and refilling.
These feeders are suitable for a variety of hive styles including 5-frame, 8-frame, and 10-frame Langstroth setups, flow hives, nuc/nucleus boxes, and top-bar hives. The metal lid is designed to fit any jar with a 2 ¾ inch mouth.
How to use:
1. Fill a glass or plastic jar with sugar syrup or plain water.
2. Secure the jar with an appropriate metal lid.
3. Press the plastic base onto the lid to seal it, then invert the assembly.
4. Push the inverted feeder partially into the hive entrance so the tray sits where foragers can reach it. Vacuum in the sealed jar prevents continuous dripping.
Practical features:
- Easy to clean and rinse between uses.
- Visual feed level monitoring without disturbing bees.
- Extended tray provides easier access inside the hive.
- Base made from high-impact plastic for long-term use.
Pros
- Fits common mason-style jars
- Stainless steel lids resist wear
- Transparent base lets you see feed levels
Cons
- Lids may corrode over time
- Bottom seam can leak during jar installation
- Close-to-entrance feeding can invite robbing
VerdictThese entrance feeders provide a simple, inexpensive way to deliver syrup or water via jars at the hive entrance. They’re sturdy, easy to clean, and work with most common hives and mason-style jars, but some users report lid corrosion and minor leakage at the base seam. Good for routine feeding, though monitor for rust and robbing.

Effective until lids corrode
Good feeders for new colonies, but around six weeks the metal lids corroded and became difficult to remove for refilling.

Simple to operate
So simple.

Mason jar compatible
Accepts standard mason jars and sits in the entrance without trouble. Lid holes give a steady drip for workers.

Convenient but has issues
Entrance feeding is handy, yet there are trade-offs. Placing syrup right at the entrance can raise robbing risk. The units feel solid overall, but a seam at the base can let spilled syrup leak out when attaching the jar, which may attract ants or other pests. They’re affordable and functional, but expect to monitor for mess and unwanted visitors.
