7-inch Cast Iron Tamagoyaki Pan for Japanese Rolled Omelettes
Product description
Purpose-built shape and form: This pan features a precise rectangular cooking surface with low sides designed specifically for folding and rolling Japanese tamagoyaki. The geometry makes it easier to control layers and slide the omelette with the included turner.
Solid cast iron construction: Manufactured from heavy-duty cast iron with no synthetic nonstick coatings, the pan provides even heat distribution and strong heat retention. The metal mass helps produce a golden exterior and tender interior on rolled omelettes and other foods. The overall cooking surface measures roughly 7 inches across, suited to small-batch cooking.
Included accessories: The set ships with a stainless steel turner shaped to match the pan’s corners for easier flipping and forming, plus a green silicone basting brush for spreading oil evenly across the surface—no need to hunt for extra utensils.
Multi-purpose usability: While optimized for tamagoyaki, the rectangular pan works well for small grilled cheese, mini pancakes, crepes, bacon, and searing thin cuts of meat. Its shape and heat characteristics expand its uses beyond just rolled egg dishes.
Seasoning and care: The uncoated cast iron surface requires initial seasoning and regular maintenance. Over time and with proper care the surface builds a natural nonstick layer that improves release and flavor. Avoid harsh detergents where possible; hand wash with warm water, dry thoroughly, and apply a light coat of oil before storing.
Cooktop compatibility and maintenance: The pan performs on gas, electric, ceramic, and induction cooktops. Because it is cast iron, expect some weight when handling. Routine reseasoning and correct drying prevent rust and keep the surface performing well for years.

Small but pleasant
Compact as expected, but it performs well. I’m able to make nicely shaped rolled omelettes with it.

Fast, simple omelettes that impress
Used it this morning and made the quickest omelet I've managed. The rectangular design truly helps control and fold the eggs compared with a round pan. The low sides make flipping and shaping with the supplied spatula straightforward. It heats evenly and holds temperature well, and a light oiling prevented sticking. The matching turner and silicone brush are handy extras. Overall, a thoughtful tool that speeds up omelet prep and delivers consistent results.

Sturdy and reliable for rolled omelettes
A solid, well-made cast iron pan that does what it’s meant to. The rectangular shape helps shape and flip tamagoyaki, and it heats uniformly after preheating. The wooden grip feels sturdy; just season it before first use and avoid soap when cleaning. The included spatula and brush are practical bonuses.

Well-constructed but rough interior and unclear directions
The pan is moderately thick and feels solid. The cast iron surface is somewhat grainy and could benefit from more smoothing; the wooden handle is comfortable and has a handy hook. The metal scrapers and silicone brush are decent additions. My main gripe is the instruction sheet — poor translations and unclear guidance make the break-in process confusing.

Great quality!
Works excellent for different omelet styles. Food releases well, it’s easy to use and clean, and feels well made.

Decent value but sticking and rust issues
For what it is, the pan is acceptable, yet it’s quite heavy to maneuver. Heat retention is good, but it didn’t feel nonstick in practice — eggs clung despite butter, and cleanup was frustrating. The small metal spatula is useful but not enough to make this my daily egg pan; better for occasional heavier-duty cooking. After a few uses it developed rust and I discarded it.

Good pan if you season it properly
I enjoy this pan. It brought back memories of tamagoyaki from years ago. Being cast iron, it must be seasoned before use — don’t expect instant nonstick. Properly filling the natural pores with oil makes a big difference. When treated right it heats evenly and becomes very reliable and long-lasting.
