Daikon Oroshi Radish Grater — Japanese-Style Slicer
Product description
This handheld daikon oroshi grater is supplied with a removable fine-mesh draining insert that catches and moderately drains moisture from grated radish. The grater plate features specially arranged triangular cutting tips set in front, rear, left and right symmetry so the root glides and shaves with minimal force.
The draining mesh is fine-grained to let liquid pass while retaining the grated pulp, helping produce a light, not overly wet, oroshi. The unit’s body includes a rubber non-slip pad on the underside to stabilize the grater during use and reduce movement on countertops.
To use, slide the peeled daikon or similar vegetable across the triangular blades; the mesh insert can be used to collect and drain the pulp or removed if you prefer to grate directly into another container. Note: this grater is not intended for citrus fruits.
Dimensions: body 88 × 168 × H53 mm. Weight: 152 g.

Easy to handle, effective
Chose this over pricier models and glad I did. Non-slip bottom and draining net are very convenient. Store the lid inverted to keep the blade safe. Smooth back makes cleaning easy. Slim size stores well. You can grate with light, circular motion but pushing straight may still use more arm strength.

Worth paying a bit more for
More expensive than basic graters, but it grates a daikon quickly and without tiring my hands. Sharp, fast, and stable on the counter.

Better built than I thought
I was unsure because the grating looks plastic, but it’s well made. Daikon oroshi comes out great. The mesh insert is handy and the rubber base prevents slipping. Instructions are in Japanese but illustrations help. Recommended.
