Drifter Lightweight Aluminum Snowshoes — Double‑Ratchet Bindings
Product description
This set includes one pair of adult snowshoes and a mesh carrying bag for storage and transport. The frames are built from lightweight aluminum and sit on a molded deck that allows a full-floating pivot at the toe for natural stride motion.
A double-ratchet binding system secures your boot quickly and lets you fine‑tune fit without fussing in cold conditions. The bindings are paired with a heel strap and integrated heel lifter(s) to reduce calf strain during steep climbs and improve comfort on sustained ascents.
Underside traction is provided by metal cleats and crampon-style spikes positioned to bite into icy or packed snow. The design is intended for adult hikers across a variety of terrain — groomed trails, packed routes, crust and light to moderate powder — and the included carry bag keeps the pair compact for storage when not in use.
Pros
- Lightweight aluminum construction
- Quick double-ratchet bindings
- Built-in heel lifters for climbs
Cons
- Not ideal in very deep, wet powder
- Some plastic binding parts may wear over time
- Cleats can clog with wet snow
VerdictA solid, budget-minded pair of adult snowshoes that balance low weight with dependable traction and quick, tool-free binding adjustments. They perform well on trails, icy paths and moderate powder; expect limitations in very deep or wet heavy snow. Good for beginners through casual winter hikers who want easy setup and portable gear.

Excellent for my Lapland trip
Handled deep snow brilliantly, stayed light and secure all day. Solid performance and very easy to strap on — a great alternative to renting gear abroad.

Perfect for snowy dog walks
Needed help on long walks through heavy snow and these made the trails doable. Easy to fit and have handled several miles of rough woods so far. Would buy again.

Great intro for first-timers
First time snowshoeing and these gave a real workout. Easy to use, good traction from the claws and I now use them regularly on our trail.

Good beginner option
Lightweight with solid grip for the price. The plastic bindings feel like they could fail after heavy use, but so far they’ve held up and performed as expected.

Made winter walking safer and easier
Simple to put on, lightweight and the clasps hold well. Heel lift helps on climbs and they made our walks on icy slopes much more secure. Highly recommend.

Fun and stable winter exercise for older users
Bought pairs for myself and family members. Very stable on ice and snow, easy to step into once you learn left/right. Using stiffer poles helped. With good boots and snow pants these have given us years of outdoor exercise.

Sturdy feel, good straps but minor worries
Built tough and fit securely with the ratchets. Heel riser can feel odd unless you have a stiff boot. I’m concerned the riser retention might wear before long, but overall they work well.

Not for stealthy hunting or very deep powder
Easy to don and remove, fine on average snow and crust. They are noisy on anything but pure powder and lose buoyancy in deep, wet snow. Great for hiking but not ideal for hunting.

Did the job on a mountain hike
Hiked ~2 miles in 4–10 in. of powder and mostly floated without sinking. Quick-release ratchet straps were handy. Spikes can clog on steeper, icy sections, so I wouldn’t trust them in extreme alpine terrain.
