Fast‑Acting Sulfur Granules — 5 lb Soil Acidifier
Product description
Fast-acting sulfur granules formulated to start lowering soil pH soon after application. The product is made from elemental sulfur in a granular form, which makes it simple to spread around beds, shrubs and turf without creating dust.
Supplied in a 5 lb bag containing small, colored granules for easy visibility during application. The granules dissolve into the soil over time to release sulfur that helps acid-loving plants better access nutrients and respond more effectively to fertilizer.
Intended for use on hydrangeas, azaleas, blueberries and other acid-preferring species, and suitable for general lawn green-up. Application is typically done around the root zone or across lawn areas; follow label guidance for rates and timing.
Features Nutri‑Bond technology, a proprietary bonding system that helps the granules adhere to soil particles so more of the product stays where you put it, which reduces potential runoff and improves efficiency.
Formulated to be safe for people and pets once applied; lawns can be used immediately after treatment. Works on all grass types and around ornamental plantings when used as directed.
Useful as a rapid pH adjustment tool, though it complements rather than replaces longer-term organic soil building. For best results, combine with soil testing and regular horticultural practices.
Pros
- Starts reducing soil pH quickly
- Nutri‑Bond limits runoff and keeps granules in place
- Safe for people, pets, and all grass types after application
Cons
- Not a substitute for long-term organic soil enrichment
- May require repeat applications depending on soil buffering
- Some users report gradual rather than dramatic pH shifts
VerdictA practical elemental sulfur granule product for gardeners who need to reduce alkaline soils for hydrangeas, azaleas, blueberries and turf. The 5 lb granules begin reacting on contact to help plants take up nutrients and improve color. Nutri‑Bond technology helps hold material in place and reduces runoff. It won’t replace long-term organic soil amendments, but it’s a convenient, pet‑ and people‑fr

Completely revived my beds
My plants were suffering from alkaline well water and this product turned things around. Within a week I saw improvement and after a couple of weeks the flowers opened and looked much healthier. The granules are easy to see when spreading, the smell is mild, and the bag size is generous. I’ll buy again.

Does the job for acid-loving plants
Effective for plants that prefer acidity — our bigleaf hydrangeas shifted toward blue as we hoped. It didn’t stunt growth and was simple to apply. The color of the granules is handy and they don’t stain hands.

Slow but steady improvement
I’ve used it two months and my garden’s acidity is gradually improving. Progress is slow but noticeable.

Helpful but not a miracle
After a couple of weeks the pH dropped a bit, but not to the ideal 5.5–6.5 for fruit and herbs. It would be better if it acted faster or stronger without harming plants.

Fewer tomato issues this season
Tomatoes didn’t develop bottom rot this year — could be related to improving soil chemistry with this sulfur.

Didn’t produce blue hydrangeas for me
I bought this to turn my hydrangeas blue but they remained pink despite increasing the amount. I’m disappointed given the cost.

Not a replacement for compost
Improving garden soil takes time and organic matter. I’ve been saving leaves and kitchen scraps and relying on rainwater — those steps made the biggest difference. This sulfur can help at low levels if organics run low, but it won’t replace the ecosystem provided by worms and microbes.
