5-Inch Heavy-Duty Metal Box Spring Foundation for Queen Bed
Product description
Built from a heavy-gauge steel frame, this 5-inch box spring is designed to provide a solid base for queen-size mattresses. The construction is rated to support up to 3,000 pounds, making it suitable for heavier mattresses and multiple sleepers. The frame ships in sections, with the outer frame preformed into multiple pieces to reduce shipping bulk and simplify setup.
The short, low-profile footprint gives a contemporary, space-saving appearance while maintaining full mattress support. A textile cover slips over the top and sides to protect the metal and present a neat finish; the included cover protects against dust and light wear though some users elect to add a full zippered encasement for complete coverage.
Installation is intended to be straightforward: the kit includes the necessary fasteners and an Allen wrench so no extra tools are required for most setups. The frame features drop-in slats and bolted joints that lock together; after loosely connecting components and then tightening, the assembly becomes rigid and stable. The unit is compatible with innerspring and memory foam mattresses.
The design focuses on noise reduction, using tight metal joints and secure fittings to minimize squeaks. In a small number of cases buyers reported a slight give at joints or needed to trim a fraction of framing for a tight bed-frame opening; these situations were resolved with simple DIY shims or minor cuts. Overall, the foundation offers a quiet, durable base for everyday use.
Included in the package are the multi-piece metal frame sections, slats, bolts and nuts, and an Allen key. The finished dimensions provide a queen mattress fit with a 5-inch elevation from floor to mattress base, giving a modest lift suitable for those preferring a lower bed profile.
Pros
- High 3,000 lb capacity
- Low-profile, modern appearance
- Quiet, stable metal construction
Cons
- May need minor trimming for tight frames
- Top cover only — some prefer a full encasement
- Occasional slight center give without added support
VerdictThis low-profile metal box spring delivers strong, quiet support for queen mattresses and a modern appearance. It’s sturdy and holds very heavy loads, with a fabric cover for a finished look and mostly simple assembly. A few users needed minor tweaks for fit or added center support, but overall it’s a capable, dependable foundation.

Took longer than expected
Arrived in many pieces. I would have liked to see a parts layout so I knew what I was getting. It ended up taking about three hours to complete.

Sturdy and straightforward
I put this together on my own. The bolts, nuts, and Allen key were neatly packed and the measurements were accurate. Feels durable and should last. I added a full zip cover because the included wrap only covered the top and sides.

I bought this item and I absolutely love it. 5/5
Fits and lifts perfectly
I worried it wouldn’t work with my king mattress, but it fit my setup and provided just the right lift—ideal for my 4'9" height. Assembly was simple and it sits nicely in my room. Very happy with this purchase.

Surprisingly easy to assemble
At first I worried when I saw the small box, but it went together very simply—even with toddlers underfoot. It’s lightweight yet feels solid once put together and fits perfectly in my bedroom. Highly recommend.

Great design but check measurements
The unit is well built and quite sturdy, but the specs were a bit off for me. The frame came almost 1/2" wider than stated and wouldn’t fit between my rails, so I trimmed a small amount from the supports and slats, drilled new holes, and reassembled it. Worked fine after the tweaks, but be prepared to adjust if your frame is a tight fit.

Reliable queen foundation
Very pleased with this queen-size metal box spring. Assembly was easy and instructions clear. Once assembled it holds the mattress firmly without wobble, sits well on my frame, and the metal feels well made. A good option if you want a dependable, no-fuss foundation.

Solid fit after a bit of work
Bought the 5" model to use with an older, slightly smaller full frame and crossed my fingers on the width. It arrived unassembled in a sturdy box and went together in about 30 minutes. The outer frame was preformed in sections that folded out and bolted together. Once tightened it felt very robust, though I noticed a small dip at the center joint and added a wooden support where needed.
