DJI RS 4 Mini Combo Gimbal Stabilizer for Mirrorless Cameras & Phones
Product description
The DJI RS 4 Mini Combo is a compact three-axis stabilizer designed for content creators and independent videographers. The kit includes the RS 4 Mini gimbal, a tripod, the RS Intelligent Tracking Module, a Briefcase Handle and assorted accessories for quick setup and low-angle shooting. The unit supports payloads up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs), making it suitable for most mirrorless cameras, lightweight cinema rigs and many smartphones when paired with the proper mount.
Setup is accelerated by automatic axis locks that let you get rolling in about one second instead of manually locking each axis. Balancing is improved with Teflon-enhanced sliding mechanisms that let you fine-tune positions smoothly during fast-paced shoots. A fast vertical switch allows conversion from horizontal to vertical framing in roughly 10 seconds, providing native vertical orientation for mobile and social formats.
The RS Intelligent Tracking Module enables real-time composition and subject framing, while Responsive Follow Mode makes the gimbal react quickly to hand movements—useful for orbit shots, dynamic walk-and‑run takes and solo filming. The gimbal is built to be lightweight and portable for travel or extended handheld use, and the combo bundle supplies extra mounting options for low-angle or follow-filming scenarios.
Be aware that some camera cages and quick-release plates may require alternate base plates or adapters to work with the RS 4 Mini’s sliding mechanism. Also, due to platform compatibility updates the DJI Ronin app has been removed from Google Play; visit DJI’s official site to download the latest app and user manual for the best experience.

Check your gear compatibility first
Useful gadget but not universally compatible. Verify your camera, cage and plate fit before committing.

Great for vehicle content
Solid product—my husband uses it for car videos and is very pleased with the results.

Good for cameras, disappointing with phones
Excellent performance when pairing with a camera, but the phone experience felt limited. The mobile tracking chooses targets automatically and lacks a manual object-select option, so it’s not ideal if you expect the same flexibility as other phone-focused gimbals.

Noticeable upgrade to footage
Stabilization drastically improves the look of moving shots—footage is much smoother and more professional. Controls become intuitive after some practice and the small form factor makes it easy to travel with.

Good unit but battery drains fast
Battery life seems short, especially with the tracker attached and Bluetooth connected to my camera. My box also arrived with the seal opened—accessories were intact but seemed inspected.

Smooth upgrade from cheaper gimbals
I switched from a Weebill-style gimbal and immediately noticed the difference. Auto axis locks and much simpler leveling make setup faster. I’d recommend it.

Easy to use and improves shots
Arrived well packaged and was straightforward to set up even as a first-time user. It cuts handheld shake noticeably, is light to carry and the combo bundle includes useful accessories. So far no problems—happy with the purchase.

Stopped working after a week
Started shaking after about a week of use. Disappointing reliability for the price point.

Solid choice for Sony mirrorless users
Using it with a Sony body and Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 has been smooth. Once you learn balancing, setup is quick and stabilization is reliable for walking shots and events. It’s lightweight and comfortable for longer shoots.

Steady R5 footage but some fitment quirks
Works well with my Canon R5 Mark II for walking and running shots. I recommend prime lenses for easier balance; big zooms can be used but block briefcase mode and the viewfinder may interfere. My SmallRig cage didn’t slide into the mini the way it did on larger RS models, so I attach the base plate instead. Intelligent tracking follows heads reliably, though it would be great if hand tracking was available.

Plate compatibility issue
The quick-release plate doesn’t accept a standard Arca‑Swiss plate. I swapped in a SmallRig plate to integrate my other gear.
