67mm Variable ND Lens Filter (ND2–ND400) — Ultra‑Slim Adjustable ND
Product description
Imported AGC optical glass and multi-layer coatings: The filter glass is made from AGC optical-grade glass and receives 18 layers of anti-reflective coatings to tame flare and minimize ghosting for clearer results.
Adjustable density and rotation: The filter provides a continuous ND range equivalent to roughly 1–9 stops (ND2–ND400). The rotating mount turns through 360° so you can set intermediate dimming levels for video or long-exposure photography.
X-pattern caution: At maximum attenuation settings some lens and focal-length combinations can show a dark ‘X’ artefact. This is a known interaction with variable polarizing elements and certain optics; avoiding extreme settings removes the effect.
Metal finish for reduced stray light: The filter’s metal surface is treated with an oxidized sandblasting process that lessens unwanted reflections and stray light on the frame.
Slim profile and grip: Measuring about 7.4mm thick, the low-profile frame reduces vignetting on wide-angle lenses. A CNC-patterned outer ring increases friction and makes it easier to rotate the filter or attach/remove lens accessories.
Compatibility and sizing: This unit is made for lenses with 67mm front threads — verify your lens thread size by checking for the Ø symbol on the barrel. Note that this 67mm variable ND requires a 72mm lens cap for covering when not in use.
Pros
- High-quality AGC glass with 18 coatings
- Wide 1–9 stop range with smooth 360° rotation
- Ultra-slim 7.4mm frame with grippy CNC ring
Cons
- Extreme settings can produce an X-shaped artifact
- May introduce slight color cast on some setups
- Requires checking thread size and specific cap fit
VerdictThis variable ND combines high-grade AGC glass and extensive multi-coatings with a very slim metal frame to give photographers flexible exposure control without bulky optics. Its 1–9 stop range and full rotation let you dial exposure precisely for long exposures or wide-aperture daylight shooting, while the textured CNC ring makes adjustments easier. Be aware that extreme attenuation settings can

Good but hood interference
Works well, though the adjustment lever can block fitting a lens hood.

Simple to mount
Attaches easily and performs reliably.

Solid ND, good value
Good quality glass, dependable performance and a fair deal.

Worked great on film camera
Used it immediately on a small film rig. Waiting to see developed frames but it handled mounting and exposure as expected.

Nice packaging, premium feel
Well-packed and feels premium in hand.

Love the flexibility
I own several sizes. Easy to fit and choose darkness levels. Slight green/yellow tint shows up sometimes but not a dealbreaker.

Looks great, watch image artefacts
At times images showed a web-like pattern when heavily stopped down.

Does the job — watch the extremes
Gives predictable control on a fast wide lens. Pushed it hard and I could reproduce a faint X pattern; staying within normal stops prevents that.
