Thermaltake CT120 EX ARGB Sync 120mm Magnetic-Connect Case Fans (3-Pack)
Product description
Thermaltake’s CT120 EX ARGB Sync introduces MagForce 2.0, a refined magnetic-link system that lets multiple fans connect in sequence using stronger pogo-style contact pads to reduce misalignment and speed up installation. The design eliminates intermediate wiring between fans, simplifying cable routing in tight builds. Each fan is equipped with nine individually addressable LEDs that interface with 5V motherboard ARGB control, enabling millions of uniform color combinations and synchronized lighting effects through compatible software.
Mechanically, the CT120 EX models use an optimized hydraulic bearing for quiet, reliable operation and include an embedded anti-vibration mounting system to reduce chassis noise. Fans reach up to 2000 RPM (PWM 500–2000 RPM) and produce a maximum airflow of 68 CFM with a peak static pressure of 2.95 mm‑H2O while keeping acoustics around 28.5 dB‑A under standard conditions.

These fans are suited for users who want strong static-pressure performance for radiators or front panel intakes, vivid ARGB control tied to motherboard software, and cleaner internal cable management via magnetic daisy-chaining.
Pros
- MagForce 2.0 magnetic daisy-chain reduces cable clutter
- High static pressure and strong airflow for radiators/cases
- Nine addressable LEDs per fan with 5V motherboard sync
Cons
- No fan hub included in the box
- Magnetic connectors can be bulky and cause fitment issues
- Can be noticeably louder at maximum RPM
VerdictThe CT120 EX ARGB Sync delivers a tidy cabling solution thanks to MagForce 2.0 magnetic links and strong cooling performance for case or radiator use. Lighting is flexible with 9 addressable LEDs per fan and 5V motherboard compatibility. At full 2000 RPM these fans push a lot of air and pressure with reasonable noise; they excel for high-static-pressure needs but are best used with PWM curves to k

Simple, fast setup
Magnetic connectors and only two main cables made installation effortless. Very impressed with how clean the result looks.

Fits into my existing fan setup
Integrated smoothly with my current fans and headers without issues.

Good value and quick to mount
They perform well for the price and were simple to mount — took me about five minutes. Quieter than my old RGB fans.

Perfect for Thermaltake tower builds
I installed these in a Tower 600 and removing the top fan assembly is now so much less fiddly — just pull the magnetic link. Fewer loose wires to unclip when accessing the I/O area.

High static pressure and bright RGB, but not cheap
Excellent airflow and static pressure with strong ARGB brightness. Terminations include a 4‑pin PWM and ARGB male/female which is handy. Performance at low RPM is impressive, though the mounting threads felt fragile and the set is on the pricy side; single fans aren’t sold separately.

Nearly perfect ARGB fans
Strong airflow, low noise and the magnetic wiring solution is fantastic. Highly recommend these as case fans.

Good cooling, vivid lighting
LEDs are colorful and the fans connect to standard headers. They stay quiet until heavy loads, then noise rises as expected, but thermals remain solid.

Game-changing magnetic daisy-chain for tidy builds
These were my first magnetically linked fans and the difference in cable management is night and day. With nine fans in my case I went from a wire jungle to a clean layout — installation was much simpler. They move air well in my Hyte Y70 and are sturdy; at full throttle they get loud, but at normal speeds they’re reasonably quiet. I bought multiple packs and haven’t regretted it.

Reliable, quiet operation
Well built and unobtrusive. Plug-and-play setup, keeps my system cool and looks good. I’d buy them again.

Impressive airflow and clean wiring
I tried the new magnetic standard and was pleasantly surprised — better flow than the case’s stock fans, fewer cables to hide, and attractive RGB. Good value compared with other brands using similar tech.

Easy installation, slightly pricey
They’re on the expensive side compared with basic fans, but installation is straightforward and they perform well.

Handy idea but practical limits
Fan-to-fan magnetic links are convenient, but you can’t rotate some fans 90° without extra adapters, which reduces the daisy-chain advantage. Connectors are a bit bulky and there’s no hub or short fan-to-fan wire included.
