Product description
This kit is intended for hobbyists who want to replicate paint loss and long-term wear on scale models. It contains acrylic-based chipping media plus two matching acrylic paints supplied in 17ml dropper-style bottles.
The paints and mediums are formulated to simulate different stages of deterioration: subtle surface scuffs, heavier flakes, and metallic abrasions. Materials are water-based acrylics compatible with standard model primers and topcoats.
Typical uses include military vehicles, aircraft, ships and other small-scale subjects where layered paint and exposed metal must look convincing. The chipping medium is applied, overcoated with a top color, then mechanically disturbed to reveal the underlayer.
For best application you’ll want an airbrush for even coats and quick coverage of the chipping medium, plus small disposable brushes or hobby tools to perform lifting and scratching. Follow drying times and experiment on test pieces to dial in the effect.

Excellent medium; paints feel optional for some users
I was nervous about weathering a model but bought this to copy heavily worn ship models. You'll want an airbrush for the medium and a few cheap small brushes for lifting. The chipping fluid can stay active for many hours and may strip back to lower layers if overworked, so test timing on a spare piece.

The set includes two larger chipping media bottles and two smaller dropper paints. The basic chipping medium sprays through an airbrush without extra thinning and lays very even. It takes trial and error, but it outperforms some rivals once you find the right technique. The heavier medium gives more aggressive flakes, while the smaller bottles provide a dark brown undercoat and an aluminum tone to show through.
