Broken mounting clip ruined it
A bent spring/clip wouldn’t hold the lever. Missed the return window by the time we figured it out, so the handle became unusable.

Does the job, may need extra cutting
If your door is standard you might have to widen the hole. The indicator itself is very visible to show occupied or vacant.
