3.5mm Omnidirectional Desktop Microphone — 5m ABS Wired, Black
Product description
This compact desktop microphone is supplied with a 5m cable terminated in a 3.5mm plug and a molded ABS housing designed for desktop placement. The unit is intended to provide clear voice pickup for a range of digital activities — gaming, streaming, podcasting, video calls and electronic device calibration.
Inside the housing is a small signal-processing chip that reduces ambient noise and helps emphasize speech, while the capsule samples sound in an omnidirectional pattern so it captures audio evenly from around the mic. The mic is ready to use immediately with compatible desktops and laptops; no additional drivers or software are required for basic operation.
Key specs are printed against the product type: model ZJ028MR, frequency response approximately 20Hz–16kHz, and an impedance around 2.2KΩ. The body is molded from ABS for lightweight durability and the 5m lead gives flexibility in placement without added extension cables. Intended uses include real-time communications, content creation, and AVR calibration when a handheld or reference mic is unavailable.
Setup is simple: place the microphone on a desk or near the sound source, plug the 3.5mm connector into the input, and run your application’s input selection or calibration routine. While well suited for everyday voice capture and many calibration tasks, users seeking studio-grade accuracy may prefer a dedicated measurement microphone.
Pros
- Plug-and-play simplicity with no drivers
- Long 5m cable for flexible placement
- Onboard chip reduces background noise
Cons
- Calibration accuracy may vary between units
- Not a studio-grade measurement mic
- Finish and fit can be inconsistent
VerdictThis compact 3.5mm desktop microphone delivers straightforward, plug-and-play voice capture with an omnidirectional pattern and basic noise suppression. It’s ideal for gamers, streamers, podcasters and anyone needing a quick setup — or for use in AVR calibration when a similar reference mic is required. Build and finish are generally good for the price point, cable length and connector provide fle

Performs as expected
Performs as expected. I replaced the missing calibration mic on my Pioneer Elite VSX-303LX with this similarly styled unit. After running the setup, movie audio improved noticeably.

Good for AVR calibration
Compact omnidirectional mic that handled AVR calibration reliably. Frequency response seemed flat enough. I used it with Denon and Integra receivers and got nearly the same results as the official Audyssey mic.

Inaccurate readings for my setup
Looks well made, but it produced inaccurate calibration readings on my stereo. I couldn't tell if it was the capsule or housing design. It didn't meet my needs, so I returned it.
