Lincoln NR-211 .035 in Flux-Cored Welding Wire — All-Position Spool
Product description
This product is a spool of NR-211 flux-cored welding wire in .035 inches diameter, supplied in a factory-wound reel ready for use in wire-feed arc welders.
The wire is a flux-cored, self-shielding type formulated to give good bead appearance, smooth feeding, and straightforward slag removal after welding. It exhibits rapid freezing characteristics that help control the weld puddle when fit-up is less than ideal.
Designed for all-position welding on light-gauge or thin plate steels, the wire is suitable for multipass work and provides consistent arcs that appeal to operators seeking a neat finish. Recommended maximum plate thickness for single-piece applications ranges from about 7.9 mm (5/16 in) up to 12.7 mm (1/2 in).
Use it in standard flux-core wire-feed setups for automotive repair, fabrication, and maintenance tasks where a durable, gasless wire is preferred.
Pros
- Good bead appearance and smooth feeding
- Fast-freezing for poor fit-up
- All-position, multipass capable
Cons
- Higher cost than generic spools
- Limited to light/medium plate thickness
- Requires proper machine tuning for best results
VerdictReliable flux-cored wire that produces clean beads and consistent arcs for light to medium steel. Well suited to multipass, all-position welding on thin plate where quick freeze and easy slag removal are important. A solid choice for hobbyists and fabricators seeking dependable results.

Elevates average welding to solid results
Feeds smoothly and gives a steady arc. For automotive and fabrication work the .035 size fits my needs. It won’t make you a pro overnight, but it makes your welds look better than your actual skill level.

Much improved over single-pass wires
I swapped from a single-pass toy wire to this NR-211 and the difference is clear. This wire handles multiple passes and different positions, behaving more like a 6010/6011 rod. Multi-pass capability matters because most welds require restarting, and single-pass wire often traps gases at those stops. This one fills and ties in much cleaner.

Makes cheap wire-feed welders enjoyable
Perfect for a budget wire-feed machine — it makes welding much more pleasant. It costs more than the bargain spools, but for my volume the price isn’t an issue.

Transforms mediocre welds into usable ones
I’m not a professional, but swapping the junk spool for this Lincoln made a huge difference. I now spend far less time grinding and get stronger-looking welds even with my limited skill.
